Program Overview
While the term can vary from state to state, defensive driving is both a style of driving and a type of safety course drivers can take. Here we've outlined a few tips and techniques to better help you understand what defensive driving is and how it can benefit you. “Defensive driving" is not just a catchphrase for ticket dismissal or point reduction courses. It is also a safe driving technique that all drivers should use.
The course will include approximately 2.5 hours of classroom education. This course can be taken as is or tailored to meet your company’s specific needs. Topics to be cover are:
Basic Laws: Review current laws that may not be known and fines that could be incurred including texting, seat belts, 4 way stop as disabled traffic light, etc. Basic maneuvering: Show difference between the length and width of the vehicles being driven “on the job” and passenger/SUV vehicles that are driven in personal situations.
Search, Evaluate, Execute (Expecting the unexpected from others on the road, preventing accidents, leaving enough time to eliminate unnecessary risks).
